Inspiration
Hope is released when we discover 'something to believe in' – something
that gives us purpose and direction. Within each of us lies energy waiting
to be released - energy that animates our bodies, minds, and spirits. That
hope-inspiring 'something to believe in' is usually larger than
ourselves, so when we discover it we learn that our lives are part of a much
larger picture. Gandhi said "be the change you want to see in the world." I
would add, "be the change you want to see in you." We all have
a sense of what could be, and if we act on that sense, and "live into
it," we will discover that our lives are becoming what we want them to
be.
This is what hope is. It is not a vague desire that something good might
happen. It is, in a sense, living as though it already has happened. When we
live like that, our lives become purposeful, focused and full of energy. Live
in hope!
