Inspiration - Living Healthy
What do you think of when you hear the word "peace"?
Is it simply the absence of conflict, or might it be more?
The word "shalom" is used by Jewish people all over the world as
a term of greeting, translated into English by the word "peace".
But shalom means much more than an absence of conflict – it refers to a
rich vibrant harmonious state of being, within ourselves, with others, and with
our world.
What about "health"? Is health simply the absence of disease,
or is it something more? Living healthy has to do with more than the state
of our bodies – it has to do with the state of our minds and of our spirits.
Our bodies and our emotions/minds are linked -- for example, living in a constant
state of stress may affect our blood pressure and even lead to heart disease.
What would happen to our bodies if we lived, instead, in a constant state
of shalom?
Imagine.
